New federal civil cases, every morning

See the new lawsuits that need you, before anyone else calls.

DocketFirst reads every new federal civil case in your districts, works out who was sued and what it is about, whether it will need an expert witness and which kind, and whether the defendant still needs a lawyer. Then it sends you the cases that fit your practice, best first.

No credit card. Every Firm feature during the trial. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas federal districts.

How it works

Ten minutes to set up. After that it runs every morning without you.

1

Tell us what you want

Pick your districts, practice areas, defendant industries, your expert specialties, and any companies to watch. Firm accounts keep up to five profiles.

2

We read every new case

New civil filings come from public court records (CourtListener and the courts' own PACER feeds) all day. Each one is classified once: case type beyond the nature-of-suit code, defendant and industry, expert need and specialty, and whether the defendant is likely to hire outside counsel.

3

Ranked cases in your inbox at 7 a.m.

Each case is scored against your profile, with the reasons in plain words. Work them in the dashboard: pipeline stages, notes, follow-up reminders, useful and irrelevant labels that teach the ranking, CSV export and outreach drafts.

Who it's for

One new matter is worth more than years of the subscription.

Expert witnesses and expert agencies

Stop waiting in a directory. Get the new product-liability, trucking, medical-malpractice, construction or patent cases that will need your specialty, with counsel of record when it is on the docket.

Defense litigation firms

See which companies were sued in your districts yesterday, in the industries you know, where the defendant still needs counsel. Watch lists flag your clients and targets by name.

Litigation funders

Class actions and commercial claims against solvent companies, early, filtered by practice area and district.

Insurance claims teams and litigation PR firms

New suits naming your insureds or the industries you cover; companies facing a public lawsuit that may need communications help.

Questions

Where does the data come from?

From public federal court records: CourtListener (Free Law Project's archive of PACER data) and each district court's own PACER RSS feed. We do not buy or show PACER documents; we work from the docket information that courts publish for free.

How fast do new cases arrive?

We check the court feeds every 10 minutes and CourtListener every 2 hours. Your digest arrives at 7 a.m. New York time on weekdays (or weekly, if you prefer) and covers cases filed since the last one.

How accurate is the classification?

It is an AI reading of the docket information, not of the complaint, so it can be wrong. Every case shows what it is based on and links to the docket. Mark cases useful or irrelevant and the ranking adjusts.

Can I contact the defendants?

That depends on who you are and where. Lawyers must follow their state's advertising and solicitation rules; in Texas, written solicitation of a defendant is a crime until the suit has been on file for more than 31 days. DocketFirst shows the relevant rules on each case and never contacts anyone for you. It is a data service, not legal advice.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time, from the dashboard. Your data can be exported as JSON or CSV.
